Not the greatest grammar but this year I would like to triple the size of our vegetable garden and took a few minutes to stake out the addition so we can started digging up the sod so we can work the top soil, which is more clay than top soil.

The first garden was 4 feet wide and 16 feet long. Our new garden will be 12 feet wide by 16 feet in length.

We really enjoyed our fist vegetable garden and I am kind of glad I didn’t try and go too big before we learned the ropes. I did a lot of things I wouldn’t do again but they were good learning experiences.

Here is a pretty poor image showing the size we want our veggie garden now. I used a few bamboo stakes but I couldn’t see them in the camera so I put some gloves on them so they would stick out a little, enough to see anyways. It will be easier to see once I started digging it up, maybe I will think to change this image at that time.

I tried to cram everything I could into our little garden but put things to close which blocked a lot of sun so this year our vegetables will have some elbow room so I am looking forward to much more produce. Maybe enough to do some canning this year, that would be very cool.
